More companies are adopting BI tools to enable advanced analytics, and managing those tools effectively only gets harder as they scale. As more users get added to a platform, some end up creating customized versions of existing reports, and others configure something to test an idea and forget to remove it once testing is done. Both quietly drive up cost.

As a BI admin, figuring out where to start, or working through that volume alone, is genuinely hard. The natural next step for Control Tower is helping you act on these alerts, not just surface them. That's why we're shipping two new features: Workflows and the email digest module.
Workflows let admins on Control Tower define reusable actions that run across the system. Right now, that means notification workflows: singling out the most urgent alerts, individually or in bulk, so the right person hears about them first. Down the road, Workflows will take concrete remediation actions on your behalf, clearing alerts even faster.
The email digest module is a connector-wide notification that gives BI admins a snapshot of that connector's overall health: the top alerts across monitors, and the monitors generating the largest number of issues. It's meant to give you a starting point for remediation, so you're not just staring at a wall of alerts with no idea where to begin.
Combine that connector-level snapshot with Workflows' ability to selectively notify specific users, admins, or a static external address, and you get a real path to bringing alert numbers down, without adding to the cognitive load of running a large-scale BI environment.

What's the difference between a monitor and a workflow in Datalogz Control Tower?
A monitor is the check that runs continuously across a connector and produces alerts. A workflow is the rule that decides what happens to those alerts: who gets notified, individually or in bulk, and through which channel.
Do Workflows fix issues automatically?
Not yet. This release focuses on notification workflows, getting the right alert to the right person faster. Automated remediation actions taken on the admin's behalf are planned for a future release.
Who should receive the connector digest?
Right now, the connector digest goes to BI Admins only. Unlike regular notification workflows, it doesn't yet support routing to a specific team, individual owner, or external address, that level of recipient control is on the roadmap.
Do I need to turn on Workflows for every monitor at once?
No. Start with the monitors generating your highest volume of unresolved alerts and expand from there once you've confirmed the right people are getting notified.
Is the email digest connector-specific or estate-wide?
Connector-specific in this release. Each digest summarizes one BI platform's monitors and top alerts, so admins managing multiple connectors can prioritize one environment at a time.
